Mahon is the national food of Phaluhm Phoueck. It consists of shredded pancake batter, served with fruit or syrup.

History[]

In 1925, during The Great Recession, Jona Kalabela discovered that she could make pancake batter in small pieces by shredding it. She opened her first Mahon store in 1927, and it was a great hit. It still exists as Jona Kalabela cafe, Arttahan, Dauham Sammar Hazaham.

During WW2 and the Great Race, mahon was popular as it cost less to make than full-sized pancakes.
